The New York Yankees put on an impressive offensive display in their recent spring training game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The team hit a total of five home runs, with DJ LeMahieu, Josh Donaldson, Estevan Florial, Oswald Peraza, and prospect Andres Chaparro all contributing to the victory.
LeMahieu, Donaldson, Florial, and Peraza all hit their first home runs of the spring within the first three innings of the game. Chaparro, on the other hand, hit his fourth home run of the Grapefruit League in the eighth inning.
Anthony Rizzo Struggles with Fielding
While the Yankees’ batting was exceptional, Anthony Rizzo struggled with fielding during the fifth inning. He was unable to keep a smashed grounder from Daulton Varsho in front of him, resulting in an RBI double for the Blue Jays.
Impressive Pitching from Wandy Peralta
Pitcher Wandy Peralta also caught the eye of viewers, throwing 14 pitches and inducing seven swings and misses from the Blue Jays in a scoreless inning.
