Jesse Borrego is an American actor. He is an astonishing figure who has proven himself in the vast world of Hollywood through his excellent work and determination. He is best known for his roles as Cruz Candelaria in Blood In Blood Out, Jesse V. Valesquez in Fame, Gael Ortega in 24, and as George King in Dexter. He was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Borrego studied theatre and dance at The University of Incarnate Word; he studied acting at The California Institute of the Arts.

Since Lupita Production was opened, he has produced theatrical productions and concerts as well as two 16mm short films: El Sueno de Simon in 1993 by James Borrego and Flattime in 1995 by Jimmy Santiago Baca. He also played the role of an original gangster on DarkRoom Familia’s “Veteranos” in 1999. He is well known for his recurring roles on the series, 24, as Gael Ortega and the third season of Dexter as George King.
Borrego starred in the movie La Mission where he reunited with star Benjamin Bratt in 2009. He has also had his hand in directing. Borrego directed Closer to Bottom which premiered at the inaugural Austin Indie Fest in November 2017. The movie won an award for Best Made in Texas Feature Film.
